Public Cloud

The public cloud is a large physical and virtual infrastructure shared with thousands or even millions of users. Operated by a third-party provider (Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure are the two leading public cloud providers today), public clouds are available to anyone who wants to use or purchase them. Public clouds may be free or sold on-demand, allowing customers to pay only per usage for the CPU cycles, storage, or bandwidth they consume.
