Data Breach

A data breach is a security incident in which an unauthorized individual, application, or service illegally views, accesses, or steals data. Breaches differ from ransomware attacks in that hackers aren’t looking for a ransom—they just want valuable data such as credit card information or personal files that they can use for their own means. Government, healthcare, universities, and businesses of every size are all susceptible to breaches due to the often valuable information they possess.
