Data Backup

Data backup is the process of copying data into an archive file so it may be used to restore the original after a data loss event such as malware, natural disaster, human error, or a power outage. This process can be done internally or through a cloud services provider, however most cybersecurity experts agree that the best method of backup is the 3-2-1 rule. The rule states that 3 copies of data should be maintained in 2 independent storage mediums, with 1 copy housed offsite.
