Discovery & Analysis (D&A)
DSM’s Discovery and Analysis is a mature process for discovering what systems are in production and the best course of action to recovery. This process is a somewhat scaled down version of the TIA and mostly focuses on hot, warm and cold solution combinations that provide faster RTO’s. The D&A is extremely cost effective, but has some limitations because it is not an exhaustive assessment. The D&A is typically used for the budgeting phase and fully relies upon the client providing technical information.
Business Impact Assessment (BIA)
Business Impact Analysis is the process of analyzing all business functions and the effect that a specific disaster may inflict. The BIA will facilitate and identify how quickly critical or essential business units and processes have to return to full operation following a disaster. The process will delineate the business impact of a disaster across various scenarios showing the ability to deliver mission-critical services. In addition, the BIA will also facilitate the identification of resources required to restore or resume business operations.
Technical Impact Analysis (TIA)
Technical Impact Analysis is the process of analyzing all production infrastructure and the effect that a specific disaster may inflict. DSM leverages our broad Virtual Disaster Recovery experience to collaborate with our clients to provide technical solutions that lessen the impact of a disaster. Our TIA utilizes industry standard products to provide Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) that are in the minutes to hours, rather than days to weeks. During the TIA, DSM will thoroughly review the environment and develop a variety of solutions to meet the objectives.
